Dua for breaking the fast (iftar)
ذَهَبَ الظَّمَأُ وَابْتَلَّتِ الْعُرُوقُ وَثَبَتَ الْأَجْرُ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ
Dhahaba’ẓ-ẓama’u wa’btallati’l-ʿurūqu wa thabata’l-ajru in shā’a’llāh.
“The thirst is gone, the veins are moistened, and the reward is confirmed, if Allah wills.”
When to say it
Said upon breaking the fast at sunset.
Virtue & benefit
The Prophet ﷺ would say this when he broke his fast. The time of iftar is a moment when the supplication of the fasting person is answered.
