SABR (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is a mobile application designed to help users memorize the Quran through structured listening, repetition, active recall, and progress tracking. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use the SABR app and related services.

By using SABR, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the app.

Information We Collect

Account Information
When you create an account, we may collect your email address and a unique user identifier.

Learning Progress
We collect information about your progress in the app, including completed lessons, memorization progress, streaks, and performance data.

Usage Data
We collect data about how you interact with the app, such as features used, session duration, and navigation patterns.

Diagnostic Data
We may collect crash logs and performance data to improve the stability and reliability of the app.

Purchases
We collect information about your subscription status and purchase history to provide access to premium features. Payment information is processed securely by Apple and is not stored by us.

How We Use Your Information

We use the collected data strictly for the following purposes:

  • To provide and maintain the app functionality

  • To authenticate users and manage accounts securely

  • To track learning progress and enable core features

  • To improve app performance, stability, and user experience

  • To analyze usage trends and optimize features

We do not use your data for advertising or marketing purposes.

Authentication

SABR provides secure authentication methods including Sign in with Apple, Sign in with Google, and email login.

When you use Sign in with Apple, we only receive the information you choose to share, such as your email address. Apple may provide a private relay email address.

Authentication is handled securely via Supabase, which ensures encrypted and secure credential management. We do not store passwords directly.

Microphone and Speech Recognition

SABR uses microphone access for optional Quran recitation exercises. When you choose to use this feature, the app listens to your recitation so it can evaluate your response against the expected ayah. On iOS, this processing is performed locally for the exercise experience. SABR does not retain, upload, or share audio recordings created during these exercises. Any speech transcription used to evaluate the exercise is temporary, used only for immediate scoring, and discarded afterwards.

Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party services to operate the app:

  • Supabase (authentication and database)

  • Apple In-App Purchases (subscription payments)

These services operate under their own privacy policies.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is securely stored using encrypted infrastructure. We implement industry-standard measures including:

  • Encryption in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest

  • Secure authentication systems

  • Access control policies ensuring users can only access their own data

While we strive to protect your data, no system is completely secure.

Legal Basis for Processing (EEA Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), we process your data under the following legal bases:

  • Performance of a contract: to provide app functionality

  • Legitimate interests: to improve the app and ensure security

  • Consent: for optional features such as notifications

Data Retention

We retain your data only as long as necessary to provide the service.

If you request account deletion, your data will be deleted or anonymized within 30 days, unless retention is required by law.

Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your account directly within the app or by contacting us. All associated data will be permanently deleted or anonymized within 30 days.

Your data may be processed on servers located outside your country. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

Tracking

We do not use your data for tracking purposes. We do not share your data with third-party advertisers or data brokers.

Children’s Privacy
