Al-Waliyy
الْوَلِيّ

What it means
Al-Walīy is the near, protective ally of those who take Him as their walī. The Qurʾān pairs the name with "friends of Allāh" (awliyāʾ) whom no fear touches and no grief overtakes — a relationship of closeness, not distance.
