Tajwid rule
Izhar (clear pronunciation)
الإظهار
Transliteration: Iẓhār
What it is
Izhar means clear, unhindered pronunciation of the noon — no ghunna, no merging, no hiding. It applies before the six throat letters (ء، ه، ع، ح، غ، خ).
When it applies
A noon sakinah or tanwin comes before any of the six huruf al-halq (throat letters): ء، ه، ع، ح، غ، خ.
How it sounds
The noon is fully articulated with the tip of the tongue touching the roof of the mouth, exactly as if it were followed by a vowel — no nasalization added or removed.
