Privacy Policy

SABR (“we”, “our”, “the app”) is a Quran memorization application available on the web, iOS and Android. We take your privacy seriously and only collect what we need to make the product work.

1. Data we collect

  • Account: email, display name, and OAuth provider identifier (Google or Apple) when you sign up.
  • Learning progress: which surahs you have opened, completed, or reviewed, plus streak, XP and daily activity.
  • Device / diagnostic: crash reports and anonymous performance telemetry via Sentry.
  • Product usage: anonymised event data via PostHog (button clicks, screen views) to understand what features people use.
  • Payment: handled by Stripe (web) or Apple / Google (mobile). We never see your card number.

2. What we DO NOT collect

  • Contents of your microphone audio — recitation is analysed on-device or in a streaming pipeline we don't archive.
  • Your phone contacts, photos or location.
  • Marketing profiles from third parties.

3. Why we collect it

To provide the app, sync your progress between devices, prevent abuse, and improve the product. We do not sell your data.

4. Data storage

Data is stored on Supabase (EU region, eu-north-1). Backups are automated and encrypted at rest. Payment data is held by Stripe under their PCI DSS Level 1 certification.

5. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

You can request access to, export, or deletion of your data at any time by emailing support.sabr@gmail.com. We respond within 30 days.

6. Retention

Account data is kept until you delete your account. Once you delete, we hard-delete within 30 days (Stripe transaction records are retained per legal obligation).
